If Lance Armstrong admits to using doping products, he may return to cycling

An individual that didn’t desire to be indentified has disclosed that Lance Armstrong intends to admit to using banned medicines during an interview with Oprah Winfrey. Is this a right decision of the disgraced cyclist? Opinions differ. Some individuals affirm that if the disgraced American cyclist admits to doping, his reputation will be restored. Others believe that the admission will not produce any changes. Certain other persons think that if Lance Armstrong does it, he will probably go to jail.
It is known that Lance Armstrong denied administering steroids and other banned preparations. He seemed to succeed till the USADA published a report on him. The USADA’s dossier presented doping evidence. As a result, the cyclist lost his 7 Tour de France titles. Furthermore, his sponsors cut their ties with him. In addition to these negative conditions, Lance Armstrong had to distance himself from the foundation Livestrong in order to prevent hurting it.
Will Lance Armstrong admit to taking forbidden substances? Which will be consequences?
Certain experts claim that prosecution will take place, if Lance Armstrong admits to doping. The cyclist has claimed under the oath that he never used any forbidden products. So, if he admits to doping, it means that he admits to lying under the oath. As a result, he may be sentenced to imprisonment. That’s why some experts say that Lance Armstrong should continue denying doping.
But there are individuals who affirm that the admission will change nothing. Millions of individuals with cancer that have survived with the help of Livestrong praise Lance Armstrong. The cyclist is a hero for them. These individuals like the former cyclist, regardless of whether he has doped or not. If even Lance Armstrong admits to applying forbidden medications throughout his athletic career, these individuals will continue to support him.
But there is also another point of view. If Lance Armstrong presents important information about intake of doping products in the US Postal Service Cycling Team, his suspension from competitions may be reduced. So, Lance Armstrong will probably return to professional cycling.
It is unclear whether Lance Armstrong will really admit and which results will follow.

Doping made celebrated American cyclist Texan of the Year

The Dallas Morning News is a daily newspaper which is very popular in the USA. Some persons whose deeds have significant impact on the society are chosen every year for the “Texan of the Year” award. It is important to mention that not only positive deeds are considered. Even actions that have been influenced on the society negatively may promote getting the “Texan of the Year” award. So, Lance Armstrong’s doping scandal made the cyclist the finalist for the “Texan of the Year” award.
As you understand, Lance Armstrong’s doping case is not pleasant. Although this case disgraced the legendary American cyclist, it made him more prominent. The scandal had significant influence on the society. A lot of individuals discussed the situation linked with his usage of anabolic steroids, EPO and other related medications. A lot of persons focused on the following questions: “Have Lance Armstrong actually administered doping products?”, Why has he cheated?”, Which medicines have been applied by him?”, How could he avoid detection?”, etc.
The Dallas Morning News didn’t fail to present positive actions of Lance Armstrong as well. The newspaper noted about efforts of the cyclist for the foundation that helps people with cancer to survive. The athlete also promoted developing centers for studies related to treatment of cancer. The Dallas Morning News noticed also about accomplishments of the athlete that were done during his cycling career. Since young age Lance Armstrong had success in cycling. He acquired a lot of awards. Lance Armstrong got 7 Tour de France titles.
Even testicular cancer couldn’t have negative influence on the legendary cyclist. Although the cancer spread over the body, Lance Armstrong escaped from this dreadful problem. Furthermore, he came back to professional cycling after his treatment and continued succeeding. While all positive deeds of Lance Armstrong didn’t make him a finalist for the “Texan of the Year” award, his doping scandal did it. Of course, the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) contributed to his award. A dossier on Lance Armstrong’s doping case was released by the USADA. Furthermore, the cyclist’s sponsors dropped him after it was proven that he had doped. So, numerous persons were convinced that the cyclist had administered banned substances.
Texans praised Lance Armstrong, when he succeeded in sports. But when this athlete crashed, they began to blame him. It is not surprisingly because this is the essence of Texans. While they like to make certain persons heroes, they like to blame them too.

Numerous fighters use marijuana and other recreational drugs

Dana White, the UFC president, thinks that many MMA fighters take marijuana. This person is troubled by this issue. While anti-doping organizations put efforts to eradicate application of steroids and other doping products, the UFC president claims that it is needed to test fighters for recreational drugs randomly. Dana White affirms: “Forget about steroids!” He affirms that it is the time to be troubled by usage of marijuana and other related drugs by MMA fighters.
It is known that those who are caught taking anabolic steroids and/or other related preparations are sentenced to suspensions from competitions. Which sanctions are for those that are caught using recreational drugs? You should know that the punishment is the same.
Don’t you wonder how many athletes are caught using marijuana and/or other related substances, if random testing for recreational drugs will be conducted in the UFC?
475 fighters have contracts with the UFC. It is supposed that if random testing is implemented, approximately 80% of these athletes will be caught using these drugs.
The United State Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) and the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA) would be happy to sign a contract with the UFC in order to eradicate doping from MMA. They affirm that the UFC should have the same anti-doping policy like other sports organizations have. But the UFC president doesn’t want to sign a contract with the USDADA and the VADA. He notes that the State Athletic Commission test fighters for banned substances. It is enough in order to clean the UFC from intake of banned products, according to the UFC president.
It becomes obvious that Dana White doesn’t plan to clean MMA from doping. Previously he has pronounced several affirmations for support of testosterone replacement therapy among fighters. He has said that any fighter should take anabolic steroids under indications of his physician, if he has low testosterone levels. Sportspersons must acquire therapeutic use exemptions in order to compete professionally while administering some steroids. But it is possible to suppose that therapeutic use exemptions frequently serve as an excuse for doping. A lot of top fighters have obtained therapeutic use exemptions and take steroids while fighting. Thus, doping continues to prosper in MMA.
Why doesn’t Dana White put efforts to eradicate doping and smoking pot from MMA? Think logically! The war on doping and smoking will have negative impact on business.

Is it correct to call steroid users “cheaters” in our unnatural society?

Reporters often write articles about those that have unnaturally increased muscles and endurance. Reading their affirmations, you can see that those who administer steroids and/or other related medicines are harshly demonized. Such persons are criticized in our society. They are called “cheaters”. It is affirmed that those that administer anabolic steroids for bodybuilding purposes may become addicted to these drugs. A lot of articles also contain information related to possible side reactions of steroids. Although certain undesirable results occur in steroid users, others are not proven scientifically. For example, it is widely reported about violence and murders committed by consumers of steroids. It is considered that anabolic steroids may cause uncontrolled behavior that results in crimes. However, so named “roid rage” related to these medicines is considered to be a controversial issue.
A lot of individuals claim that administration of steroids for obtaining of muscle mass and strength, hardening of muscles and fat burning is a moral issue. Let think! Is this affirmation free from hypocrisy? Why are just anabolic steroids demonized? Do just these preparations make the society unnatural? Let analyze other conditions of the society! What do you think about sexual stimulants? It is said that you should not suffer from sexual disorders, when there are proper medications to get rid of such problems. Furthermore, what do you think about anti-aging products? Why should you have evident wrinkles, if there are ways to hide your age? Models and actors take several medications but they are not named “cheaters”. Students apply certain products in order to enhance their cognitive abilities. They are not demonized too. Certain experts that have conducted certain studies affirm that those that administer steroids for increase of physical abilities are more harshly demonized than those that apply several medications to enhance cognitive capacities. Is it fair?
As you see, our society is full of hypocrisy, ignorance and unfair accusations. May you demonize consumers of steroids in this world? May you claim that application of steroids for performance-enhancing effects is a moral issue? Be real! If you start demonizing steroid users, don’t forget about other aspects in the society!

Attitude of Dana White towards athletes that medically use steroids

Intake of anabolic steroids for testosterone replacement therapy by athletes is a controversial issue. There are a lot of debates related to it. It is known by anyone that anabolic steroids and certain other related medications are forbidden in numerous sports organizations. But if a person should administer these drugs under instructions of his/her doctor for clinical needs, he/she should obtain a therapeutic use exemption. Although it is permitted to administer even anabolic steroids for clinical needs, such sportspersons are frequently blamed and called “cheaters”. Actually, it is not fair.
What does Dana White, the UFC president, affirm about application of steroids for testosterone replacement therapy? Does he demonize fighters that take steroids in order to increase their low levels of testosterone? The UFC president states that any man with hypogonadism should administer steroids, if these medicines are prescribed by his doctor. Although it is fair, let note why several sportsmen have reduced testosterone levels. It is proven scientifically that steroid abuse may lead to suppression of natural testosterone production. So, certain fighters and other sportspersons that have administered previously steroids for performance-enhancing effects may experience hypogonadism. Hence, their doctors recommend them applying certain steroids in order to enhance their testosterone levels.
According to the UFC president, testosterone replacement therapy is legal for all men, including professional sportspersons. Thus, if any sportsman has hypogonadism, he should be allowed to apply steroids recommended by his doctor. He should reach normal testosterone levels which characterize any healthy man of his age.
But Dana White makes it clear that any fighter or another sportsman that applies anabolic steroids and/or other prohibited medications for athletic needs must be sentenced to bans. It is necessary to make difference between those that administer steroids for therapeutic purposes and those that desire to get muscle mass and strength with the help these medications. Nobody is allowed to take anabolic steroids for performance-enhancing effects. It is forbidden in sports. Those that violate anti-doping rules must be sanctioned. Sports must be drug-free.
It seems to be surprising that statements of the UFC president differ significantly from affirmations presented by anti-doping officers. As you know, words of several anti-doping officers for steroid users are much harsher than those pronounced by Dana White.

Coach’s son died from heroin overdose

Garrett Reid, a son of the coach Andy Reid, died at his dormitory room. Although Omar Elkhamra, the team doctor of the Philadelphia Eagles, tried to revive him, the efforts of the doctor turned out to be in vain. The county coroner said that this young man (29 years old) died of a heroin overdose.
The death of Garrett Reid was a serious tragedy for the family of the coach. Moreover, the case caused certain problems for the Philadelphia Eagles. The football players had to clear themselves from suspicions connected with application of steroids. Some anabolic steroids were found by police in the dormitory of Garret Reid. Furthermore, syringes and needles were found in his possession too. The steroids were named by police. It was disclosed that Garrett Reid possessed Nandrolone Phenylpropionate, Boldenone Undecylenate, Testosterone Propionate and Trenbolone Acetate. Since these preparations were found at Garrett Reid’s dormitory room, certain suspicions appeared. It was noted that the coach’s son probably provided these banned medications to members of the Philadelphia Eagles. Thus, Garrett Reid’s death turned out to be a trouble for the whole sport organization.
Some of steroids found at Garrett Reid’ dormitory room are fast-acting. These preparations are commonly liked by athletes that submit to drug testing. Since they are excreted from the body in short period of time after administration, it is more difficult to catch those who have used these medicines. So, it is suspected that such preparations must have been administered by players of the Philadelphia Eagles.
However suspicions are pronounced, nothing has been proven. It was not disclosed yet whether anabolic steroids were found in the body of Garrett Reid.
The NFL spokesman affirmed that he would report when it will be clear whether anabolic steroids found in Garrett Reid’s room were connected with Philadelphia Eagles.

Essential changes in body mass of college football players

A few college sportspersons are caught using forbidden medicines. Does it mean that they don’t dope? Less than 1% of college football players have been caught violating anti-doping rules. They have tested positive for steroids and/or other doping products. Such situation must convince anti-doping agencies that they win in the fight against doping. But several suspicions arise. It is believed that many college football players administer anabolic steroids and/or other related medicines but they avoid detection successfully.
Why do such suspicions arise? Changes in physique of college football players lead to controversial opinions. Thus, changes in body mass of more than 61,000 college football players were recently analyzed by the Associated Press. Results displayed that numerous college football players enhanced their body weight in short period of time obviously. Over 20 pounds were gotten by more than 4,500 college football players during a year. Moreover, near 100 persons increased the body mass by more than 80 pounds during a year. As you see, the gains were obvious.
Some specialists affirm that these aspects should not trouble anti-doping officers. They note that anti-doping agencies shouldn’t subject college football players to drug tests just because they have increased body mass essentially.
But other experts have another point of view. However they agree that it is impossible to be sure that certain football players have used steroids and/or other related drugs, basing just upon changes in body weight, they notice that the changes may be a factor which causes suspicions linked with application of steroids. So, such persons that have increased body mass in short time should be subjected to steroid testing.
Some college football players that enhanced body mass obviously in short period of time were asked about their changes. The athletes affirmed that they had never applied any prohibited preparations. They claimed that they reached such great changes naturally. The college athletes noted that they had consumed much food for this purpose. Thus, they affirmed that such evident results were achieved by them because of appropriate diets. According to them, it was not difficult to get many pounds in short period of time.
